2nd hand Super-cap

Posted by: Martin C on 02 December 2001

Hi guys,

I am a bit disppointed at the moment, as I lost the chance to upgrade my pwer supply to NAC82 to super-cap instead of 01 Hi-cap. Last Sat, my dealer called up earlier in the morning and told me that they got something which I would be interested, it's this 2nd hand (2 yr old) super cap, as I just upgarded my whole system, except the SBL, they offer me to add GBP 600 + my 2 months old Hi-cap for the super-cap, if the condition of it is good, it's a very good deal
as you have to pay at least GBp 400 for a 2nd hand Hi-cap.

They said they would held it for me until the end of the day, when I called back about mid-day, the usual staff who deal with me was on demo, so I called back around 4PM, they told me it's sold by another sales, as he got no idea it was reserved??

Perhaps one of you from the forum are that lucky guy.

You can understand my disappointment!!!

To compensate that they have offer a 2ND 250 and Hicap to go active (AGAIN).

Thanks for listening!!

Cheers
Martin

Hi Juan,

I read a few threads from you about the 82 (power supply on 82), I know well that supercap is nothing compare to 2 Hi-caps, that's exactly why I am so upset.

Before this upgrade 02 months ago, I had a 3-serie active system, CD 3.5 + Hi-cap, NAC92R + flate cap, NAP90.3 X2, Snaxo2-4 + flat-cap into SBL, I first had the idea to go keep CD3.5+HI and get 82/Hi, NAP 250X2, I know what active can achieve, at the end, I decided to go for CDSII and settled for passive for a while (I even have to get the PXO), I am happy about the sound with my existing system.

I stil have the snaxo2-4 and cable, I can go back to active, but not at the moment.

cheers
Martin
