Is there a shelf-life limit to Blue-tak?

I have a package of Blue-tak which is rather old (from 1989) Can I still use it between my Dynaudio Contour 1.3's and the Dynaudio stand2 stands (new model).

If I need new and can't find it locally (new york city), are there alternatives?

Thanks,

Jay

Jay,

I found that placing stainless steel cones between speakers and stands give better sound than using the blue-tak.

.....or to phrase it differently 'why use blu-tak?'
