A Peculiar State of Mind

About Thursday, my brain rejected any notion of Beethoven. I had been a sponge for Beethoven, and now i was smooth, sleek chrome plated
steel :-)

Rifling through the stacks provided no relief - nothing called out, or otherwise made itself appealing.

I found safe harbor last night in Stevie Wonder - "Songs in the Key of Life".

I pulled out a set of Schumann Symphonies by Bernstein, and the Emerson doing the late Beethoven String Quartets.

Pollini is still in hand's reach.

A friend's coming over in about an hour. He lives alone and has no stereo. He likes playing with mine :-) Should be a good time.

My wife is steaming some cauliflower, and pan frying veal steaks with sauteed onions and mushrooms. We'll have some french bread and a green salad with that. There's one bottle of Pinot Noir left.

It's about 72 degrees and clear, so we might eat outside on the patio.

I feel the appetite for music rising :-)

Talk soon.

Gee Mike wish I were closer.

I know I go on Jags of music. about 8 years ago it was everything John Adams. I fit his music into some computer graphics and a soundtrack for a hand drawn animation. The students in the class had never heard music like that. It drove a friend of mine beyond bored.

Now I just don't seem to be as interested in casual listening to classical and serious about R&R/country vinyl and some vocal jazz of the greats. Love Shelby Lynn's Just a Little Lovin' tribute to Dusty Springfield.

I still go to a lot of classical stuff, and Saturday afternoon is Wagners Walkure.
