Active Question

Does anybody know how the IXO active cross-over works. Does it put one stereo amp on the tweeters and one on the woofers, or does it put one amp on each channel. Can you use differant amps with teh IXO (such as a 250 and a 180)? Can you adjust level with this active cross-over?

Thanks.

The IXO does indeed split one stereo amp to tweeter and one to woofer. It also has two 'tone controls to allow slight adjustment of each. these are very sensitive and in fact a few millimetres of movement makes quite a difference. I am sure someone else will gve you a far more technical explnantion.

No idea about using a two different amps.

Justin,

The IXO I owned put one amp on each channel, i.e. one amp left channel tweeter/bass, the other amp right channel tweeter/bass. So in this configuration it would not be possible to use two different amps. I don’t know whether you can modify the IXO (like you can the SNAXO) to run each frequency band to a dedicated amp.
