Tony Williams was a memeber of the Miles Davis group at the same time as Wayne Shorter, Herbie Hancock and Ron Carter. Herbie, Ron and Tony continued playing together in the Herbie Hancock Quartet, with Wynton Marsalis on trumpet. Tony was a great drummer who, unfortunately, passed away too young.

I amazed myself at getting into this album after reading a jazz guide. A fabulous moment in time it is.

I have a bit of a soft spot for Tony Williams leader date on BlueNote " Lifetime". He wen on to have a titanic fusion band also called Lifetime. "Emergency' with John McLoughlin and Larry Young is pretty awesome.

Sorry if my post was unclear .... Wynton was in the Herbie Hancock Quartet with Ron, Herbie, and Tony .... circa 81/82.
