Nagoaka MP11 Boron Cartridge

Posted by: fatcat on 02 February 2003

I have just bought a Manticore Mantra/Musician arm with a Nagoaka MP11 Boron (Stilton Series).
Does anybody know the quality of this cartridge. Plus is it worth putting a MC on a musician arm.

Thank in advance

The Stilton Nagaoka's were excellent dynamic cartridges, but are very long in the tooth now, not sure if you can still buy stylii for them.

I used one for years on a Rega Planar 3, it was a lot of fun.

The MP11 is a good cartridge, but I don't think you can get styli any more.
I used to sell the Mantra/Musician,It's a good arm, slightly better than an RB300 I would say.Had one set up with an ATF5 Stilton Body and it sounded excellent for the money.

Cheers,
Paul.

Contact Musonic on the net. They import Nagaoka cartridges and styli and list the boron styli on the site

Thanks everybody for the information,
A quickie for quickie. The person who sold me the TT gave me a small glass tube of oil and a small glass tube of grease. Do you know what the grease is for?

Thanks
