I have 140 Hi-Cap 72. I am moving to the US from Austria in 2 months and want to know whether or not I can use a step up transformer (110-230V) in the states to power my system or do I need to have modifications made to the 140 hi-Cap?

A step-up transformer will not provide the quality of power that's required for a Naim system. The conversion is actually pretty simple, and can be switched back later when you return to Europe.
