Help regarding TT wall shelf set-up

Posted by: gavagai on 14 January 2004

Hello,
Here is my set-up:
Nait5/stageline/cd5i/rega planar 25

Here is how they are stacked on my shelf:

cd5i
nait5
stageline

I recently bought a Rega TT wall shelf (I recently moved and now have hard wood floors).

My Question: Should I attach the wall shelf above the cd5i (i.e. on the wall, above the rest of my components) or would I perhaps be better off placing it to the side of the component stand? Any help/suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

Put your Rega as far ABOVE the rest of your kit as physically possible (cable + how high you can reach) because the Rega's signal cable is very sensitive to transformer hum from amplifiers or (worse!) CD-players. Experiment with the position of the wallbracket first before you finally attach it to the wall.

The Rega TT wall shelf is the best support for your player IMHO, but it has to be absolutely level to all sides (left to right as well as back to front). Take your time.
