Controlling the Squeezebox Touch with the Ipod Touch via Ipeng

Posted by: Thorsten_L on 14 June 2010

Hi@all!!!

Finally, I bought the Squeezebox Touch.

Great sound so far!!!!

Can anyone guide me through a set-up of the Ipod Touch, controlling the Squeezebox Touch with iPeng???

I can access the SQ Touch with iPeng only if I have the SQ Touch connected with ethernet-LAN to my Internet...

But how can I sit on the couch and use the Ipod Touch as a remote control???

PLEASE HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELP...

Apologies if I'm misinterpreting but. iPeng only controls the Touch via wlan. So if you're running the builtin server on the Touch with no network-connection, you're out of luck.

This goes for the Controller also. Only the IR-remotes are applicable if you are using the Touch as outlined above.

You must have the Touch networked, however you do not need to use an external server - the builtin suffices.

Got everything done.

Ecstatic.

The sound is really really good and I think even better than the CD5XS through the nDAC...

Wonderful...

Do you run it with attached USB-HD or via WLan?

very nice Plug Ins.Biography and Album Review, for me, they are a must to have.
Very interesting to read on the ipod Touch the Biographie or the Album Review from the Group or Album you just hear.

Hi Thorsten,

I'm happy to hear you're so enthousiastic about the Touch + nDAC combo.
I'm getting more and more tempted to swap my SB3/Classic for a Touch soon, and trade my current CA DACmagic for an nDAC in the (probably less near) future. Smile

regards,
Alco

If you like those I also recommend that you have a look at erland's lyrics plugin (as well as the song-info plugin on which it depends). Its a bit hit and miss depending on your music collection - but very really cool when the lyrics is available.

Also various music-services such as last.fm etc. also give access to various contextual information such as biographies etc.

You have to go to Squeezebox Server Webinterface, then go to settings, then go to plugins and aktivate the Plugin.
I think thats all.

@bhaagensen
Nice tip, i will try it.
