This might interest some of you...

Autechre's new album 'Oversteps' is also being released as a 24 bit download from Bleep.com
Here's hoping more future releases from Warp/Bleep are coming in high quality!

never heard of them before, they any good?

do they sound like anybody else? influences from?

i've been waiting for a HD download of more contemporary music, something that isn't jazz or classical.

They're a fairly experimental electronic outfit, that over the years have changed their sound quite a bit. They started out (early 90's)in the mould of other UK electronica/detroit techno producers like The Black Dog, Aphex Twin, B12 etc, and later explored more sound textures and clinical programming. It's not always easy listening, but is always unlike anyone else.
It's probably best to read up in a bit more depth, because they're quite a difficult act to describe! Try these links:

do you know of a place to have a listen to the mid sections of any of the tracks, as the starts don't give a clear picture of what the tracks are like.

do any of the streaming sites have this album?

Try this: Alva Noto + Ryuichi Sakamoto Modern classical/ambient.

You can listen to any part of the track by dragging the green part of the waveform in the player
