I don't understand the law. When, as I presume was the case, you have a room full of policeman witness someone stab a colleague how is the fact that the jury were aware of a previous charge/conviction supposed to influence things?
I could understand if it were a violent crime and a series of previous yet unrelated violence offences were mentioned but this seems a "non starter" grounds for an appeal?

I think the press release explains the defence grounds for appeal...
