Hi Alex,
To be honest, it's been several months now since I did the comparisons so it's a little difficult to give any conclusive answers as to how it compares. At the time, I did prefer the, then current, Headline to the usual suspects and, as I already had a spare NAPSC, the cost difference was negligible.
First impressions? It is doing what I expected of it, despite it being early on in the relationship/ not fully warmed up/ new HD600's etc. Timing, bass, cymbals are all there, the foot's tapping, I'm humming along like a loon and my knees are sore where I've been slapping along to the beat so all appears well.
I haven't used 'phones for years and I'd forgotten how different the experience is but it's interesting to compare them to the briks on tracks where "bass is an issue".
When do you get yours?
Dave

Well the new addition to the family has arrived (thankyou certain Naim employees), and seems to be settling in nicely. Cant wait to give it a good listen tonight after its warmed up for a few hours, it certainly looks the part.
With regards to placement will i get away with having it on top of the pre amp, if it doesnt go there it will have to sit on the floor and risk being played with by the cats. Is there a lot of quality to be lost by positioning it on the 112? Your experiences would be appreciated.
Anyway i am off down stairs to have another listen.
Regards
Craig

The signals in the Headline are so low, that I would expect it to be fine on top of the pre-amp. Of course, you want the power supply to be as far away as possible.

Thanks Mike,
The Headline is taking its power from the 112 at the momeant until such time as i can get a PSC, so i will pop it on top of the pre amp and save it from the cats.

Yes yes yes!
Anyone available at Naim to comment on whether I'll get better performance by using a dedicated hicap or use the supercap i'm using for my 252??
Sounds good anyway - HD 600's aren't that quiet when the knob is at 11:00 hours!
