Last remaining plant in a planter gift(from a grateful school child/child mother) anyone know what plant this is:-
I'll help out the green one on the left is mint and on the right is a straggly rose.

Heuchera. Possibly 'Heuchera Rachel'.

Thanks JWM. It certainly looks like a Heuchera, now I have some thing to search.
Crimson curls fit quite well too.
Not sure our Sussex clay based soil is the best for it though, as you can see it's out grown the pot.

Howard,
I am almost sure you can split them.
Try half in pot and half in ground just mix in half a grow bag with it.
You certainly can split them! As the Scrooge of the garden, I often buy a larger plant and split it, and have done this with Heuchera.

Heuchera is also called coral bells over here, there are some nice natives in CA that are quite large, they love well drained soil. There are now so many hybrids trying to get the best from each. leaves are as nice as flowers.
decades ago I pulled out a bunch of small ones because they lost their leaves. Now I find out sometimes they go dormant so I wasted good plants.
I'm helping landscape the apartment here in LA, My landlady really loves what's done so far. Coral Bells will eventually be part of the ground cover in shade. After her Japanese Red Leaf Maple goes in today.

Heucheras are easy to split into two or three plants. I'd wait until October or so when they're dormant, but while there is still something sticking out of the ground so you can find it.
They come in lost of nifty colors. Some like shade and others prefer more sun. Very versatile.
