This months Uncut CD is excellent I'm just playing it now and I'm hearing at least 3 new albums that I shall have to purchase this week.
Not really a topic but thought I'll mention it anyway!......

My Favourite tracks are by Nina Nastasia "I say that I will go" Scary stuff!, Ian Mcnabb & Crazy Horse "You must be prepared to Dream", Forgotten all about this guy from Icicle works, Shack "Carousel" very laid back and Four Tet " My Angel Rocks and Forth which sounds" interesting electronic music.
Finally a good review on David Sylvain which they give 4 stars and has to be one of Sylvain's least excessable albums but a real grower and a new album from Elbow which must have been hard to follow from "Asleep in the Back"...Almost forgot a new album from Thea Gilmore ......so much new music!...

Ajalden , the Nina Nistasia album is fantastic - she's a current John Peel fave . A definite must have .

I have the Nina Nastasia and Four Tet albums so here's my quick reviews:
Nina Nastasia - Run to Ruin
Haunting female vocals on sparse arrangements, somewhat downbeat, almost disturbing at times but beautiful with it. Most similar to Mazzy Star from my collection, If you like the sample you'll like the album. Very good overall though short (30mins)
Four Tet-Rounds
Electronic samples and loops mixed in with various acoustic theams to produce mixed results. The first few tracks are (IMO) rubbish, with loops and backwards samples dominating but producing no focus or tune. However the second half pulls it out of the fire with 3 or 4 brilliant tracks (maybe 25mins worth) which do everything that is best about this.
