n-sat's or Allae?

am considering an n-sat/sub/cent system with n-sat's front and rear - then got me thinking would i be better off with a pair of allae's as the front speakers and have a pair of n-sat's for the rear only rather than two pairs of n-sats's?? anyone got allaes in this configuaration in their system?? any advice appreciated.

No doubt, the Allae is a better speaker.
But not the same size, not the same price....

The nSats would be more balanced, but Allae in the right room are great speakers. I think you can only tell which you prefer by careful audition.
I use PMC TB2s at the front of an AV system and some old TDL Studio-1s for rears. It seems OK, but I don't watch that many films so I don't listen to it in the same way I listen to my music system.

I went through the same dilemma and got Allaes for the front and an Axess for the centre with N-Sats/stands for the rears. This seems to work well, but I'm yet to upgrade the electronics from an Onkyo amp/Arcam DV88 DVD player, but found good deals on the speakers, so bought them sooner than I otherwise might have done. I had an eye on the longer-term too and felt this combo. would be the better set-up for playing stereo CD's occasionally in a second, mainly AV system, too. Also, the new N-Sats/stands are around £900, I believe (with 2nd-hand/ex-dem options few and far between - I was lucky) and the new N-Cent around £500. I got ex-dem Allaes for £1250 and the Axess for £850: at these levels of difference I think it's worth the extra to get the "better" options (the Axess matches the Allaes better too). Keep your eyes and PC peeled for ex-dem deals!
