Can a Flat-Cap 1 Power a NAC 82?

Or do you need a Hi-Cap as a minimum?

Flat cap will work fine.

Oh hell - what about dumping the 82 and just going for a 552 then you won't even need a cap! I just saved you the price of a flatcap

Anyone every tried this?
The Naim Connections Guide states on page 16:
"Sound quality will be severely impaired if power supplies are mixed. A flatcap together with a hi-cap for example. Similarly, both outputs of a Flatcap 2 should not be used simultanesously to power one preamp"

The flat cap outputs are two different voltages (24 for pre and 22 for CDP) so its not a good plan earth loops aside.
