I have Misty and Midnight Sugar. MS was a big demo thing back in the 80's. Let me say this - The production is everything that was wrong with the early Japanese stuff. So up close that the piano presentation sounds as if they cut a hole in the soundboard and you sat under the piano with your head sticking up through it.
The performances are equally poor. While the bass and drums are competent musicians, TY himself is a hopeless amateur. For me, it makes the CD's impossible to listen to. In the 80's when we were all looking for good-sounding stuff to listen to, this stuff was ok to show off your system. Now, with all the great stuff like Bill Evans on XRCD and all that, it's just intolerable. Hope this helps.

My roundy friend uses it for his *test* disc.
Material wise, it is more tolerable than an equally mundane XRCD 'Jazz at the Pawn Shop', tho.
But I can't take a repeat listening.

Kuma - I can't believe you can tolerate his playing. It's awful. Unless you're not a jazz fan at all, which is entirely possible. The players in Pawnshop are quite accomplished. Everybody OD'd on it back when, but I think I would like it if I was hearing it for the first time.

Chayro,
Even on a table Radio, Bill Evans is always very tolerable.
His stuff sounds great on anything, frankly.

Why are you up? My Lhasa just crapped on the floor (his wee-wee pad, actually) and i'm up cleaning it. For some reason, he can't tolerate prime steak. Maybe it tells you something about that stuff.
I know you go for dance and the like. I just found out by accident, one of the tunes on Joey Negro's remix is something I played on in the 80's. I think they call it "Roll the Joint" on the record. Unbelievable that that stuff is still around. I think the whole record is called Joey Negro and the Original Kings of Disco, or something like that. Bizarre.

Because I am listening to a record.

It keeps me late at night. Just one more record before the bed....( you'll be in the same place, soon )

Our Lhasa ( joe ) probably had one accident in his whole life so far.
He's too polite to go inside of the house.
Kuma II, OTOH....she don't give a shite! ( well, she actually does )

They are called *neo*-disco, now.
Another of my favourite neo-disco DJ is Dimitri from Paris.

We trained ours as an indoor dog, never realizing he would get so big. When he has to go, he pops over to his wee wee pad corner and goes. Most of the time it's fine, but once in a while, it can get messy.
Can't believe you have that Joey Negro thing. The original record Roll a Joint was mixed from was called "When the Shit Hits the Fan", which was released on West End Records. I thought it was pretty funny, but the record did OK in its own circles. I really cracked up when I heard it. I was in a club somewhere and it came on and I could not beleive it. We cut that track in '80 or '81.
