help with interconnects and flatcap

i have just bought some audiotruth diamond 3 to replace my cheap chord cable,the cable is din to phono to connect naim 3.5 to primare amp. the arrows on the cable point at the source and have bee idle for 6 months will they lose a lot of sound quality this way ? will they still out perform the chord. iwould also like some advice on how often a flatcap should be recapped, any help would be gratefully recieved cheers frank. ps what are the audiotruh cables worth second hand.
