24/192 wav/aiff

Quick query.
I'm getting very close to replacing my AppleTV with a MacMini. 3 reasons - increased quality, get rid of noisy slow NAS box, and playing of hi-res files.
I have quite a few 24/192 AIFFs that I have ripped from Neil Young DVD-A discs, which I can play via the optical out of the MacBookPro.
My query is in two parts - 1. Can the MacMini output a 24/192 file, and 2. Can the SuperNait DAC handle it?

Neither does 24/192 natively via SPdif. No biggy. Just downconvert when you rip. 24/96 isn't going to be the weak link.

Or you could use the M2tech 'hiface' that lets you play 24/192. I use one in my office system it is super.

The HiFace is an attractive option, but can the SuperNait DAC handle the signal, or do I need to save the pennies for the NaimDAC?

SUPERNAIT DAC can handle 24/192, no problem–same with 24/176.2 as well.

I knew this but forgot as I stop at 24/96. Oops. Confused Naim needs to change the specs page. Perhaps it has to do with TOS limits.

Thank you, that's reassuring! So it looks like a MacMini/HiFace is the way forward to ensure full hidef compatability for a while at least!

Gotta try me one of these new-fangled hifaces.
