Works of Igor Stravinsky
22CDs
£17.99 from Amazon (http://tinyurl.com/ydmqary)
Conducted by Stravinsky, these may not be audiophile recordings but Sony have done a good job of remastering these discs from the original analogue tapes. It is interesting to hear how the composer interprets his own works.

A Parcel of Steeleye Span: Their First Five Chrysalis Albums 1972-1975 under £12 from the Amazon - a bargain - not 'arf
"Below the Salt" (1972), "Parcel of Rogues" (1973), "Now We Are Six" (1974), "Commoner's Crow" (1975) and "All Around My Hat" (1975)
The older collection - double CD "The Lark In The Morning" by Castle in 2003, putting together the first three albums by Steeleye Span - "Hark! The Village Wait" (originally released in 1970 on RCA Records), "Please to See the King" (1970, B&C Records) and "Ten Man Mop or Mr. Reservoir Butler Rides Again" (1971, Pegasus Records) is under £5.
So for a measly £17 - you can get 8 Steeleye Span elpees.

This forum and Amazon's one click order button has a lot to answer for!

Great thread and several recommendations which will, no doubt, find their way on to my shelves BUT:
Does no one else here have mixed feelings about boxed sets? I mean, aren't they the CD equivalent of gas-guzzlers, i.e. unnecessarily big and a waste of resources? Hand on heart, how many of the discs in most boxes get more than one play - ever?

Shirley's box gets played regularly, but she is in a class of her own.
A half man half biscuit box would be nice - although I've got everything they have brought out on vinyl and CD and download and VHS, a box would be nice ... perhaps some live stuff from more recent concerts.

Fairport unconvential box set is rubbish IMHO - I've only played it once - Richard Thompson singing in the bath is not a collector's item in my book, but I didn't realise it contained such garbage when I bought it. I love Fairport Convention, but this was completism gone mad.
