Dance (?) Music

Bought ‘Zero 7 – When it falls’ (vinyl) this week. Great album, can’t stop playing it. I bought it at HMV, Oxford Street, where I found it under ‘Dance’, about the last place I’d look for it.

Now that’s my problem, going to places such as Sister Ray I find their filing/classification system bewildering; is it Balearic Nu, is it US Deep House, Trip Hop or what have you?

Does anyone of you know of a website where I can type in an album or group name giving me the exact genre where I should look? Or else a website where I can find some explanation of all the different types of dance (?) music?

Trouble is, peoples definitions of catagories and sub-catagories of dance music are different, & I've known people call some things Trance when they clearly arn't; so all record shops will put them in different places. Thi sis not new though. When I was at college in the late 70's I knew a guy who was into AC/DC and insisted that they were new wave/punk!!!
