A sticky situation

Dear all
Earlier this week I retrieved some boxes of books from the cellar, where they had lain in exile for 10 years (for reasons of space).
Unfortunately, things must have been a little bit damp down there, because a number of books with high-gloss pages (including a fabulous photo-book on Chicago) have got all stuck together [stop sniggering at the back there, please] .
Does anyone know the best way to prise these pages apart without damaging them? Would steam be an option perhaps?
Any advice would be most appreciated!
Thanks in advance
K
