What do you think of it? I like it but for now I would not buy it until it is a really a full-blown computer.

I will wait for the next model next year and then make up my mind. This version is missing too much as far as I am concerned.

i'm not sure what it can do that my iphone can't tbh.

This link gives you a very good idea of what it's about.
It is actually a really cool thing, but seems to be primarily a consumption device, as opposed to a creation one (eg a desktop or laptop). It's not going to replace the computer (yet) but I reckon it could appeal to a lot of people, especially games.
It is apparently an absolute joy to use.

At 2x magnification (enabled using the small button in the lower right corner):
Look and feel is really quite good–same haptic adjustment required as with iPhone, but really solid.

The album cover image is roughly about the same size as a standard CD jewel box - re-assuring in a strange, old-folks kind of way.

with the iphone you scroll through the albums which have small thumbnails. will the ipad display a number of albums so you can select from a number on the screen. the meridan audio one as this mode,

You'll be waiting a very time I'm afraid...Never gonna happen. HTML5 is where it's at and there's no way Apple will actively support Flash now....(monitor a Mac's CPU usage with any Flash item in process and you'll understand why...)

Really hope Naim release soon an optimised App for the iPad ? - I'm really not sure how many of these 'upscaled' 2x Apps are going to look and feel....

David do you have anything like this in the shop?

I spoke with redeye earlier in the year and they are looking to develop something for iPad. The idea of all my albums displayed to me AND full control of my hifi makes me drool.

You're absolutely right, SC. I think this is one of most frustrating Mac experiences.

Not ready for prime-time, clumsy to configure, GUI leaves a bit to be desired-there will be far too many players in this space in a very short time.

The Ipad does look tempting. It's not a substitute for a lower priced 'mobile office' laptop as it doesn't have a keyboard and it can only run one application at a time. It looks ideal for non techies who want a user friendly way of surfing the web and reading e-books (a big plus for me). However the snag for us here in the UK is that it can not play Adobe Flash video so isn't compatable with BBC I player.

If you want to read album info then the format should be the proper 12" x 12" size an so should the iPax.
Posted on: 05 April 2010 by connon price
maybe they will come out with a 12" Maxi version for you.
Ordered. But will return. Why didn't I get the 3g version? great with maps on deliveries and roadtrips. 3G should make the blue dot more accurate, but it is not GPS, is it? Awesome to download content on the road without having to find an open Hotspot, and apparently with the ATT system, you have access to 20K hotspots at Starbucks, Bookstores and such.

Are you sure about that? I can play (though only stream, not download for later playback) iPlayer content on my iPod Touch which is equally Flash-free.
