Extra NAP 150 just for the centre

Posted by: dan scott on 06 February 2007

Hi everyone,

Do you think there would be any benefit in having an extra NAP 150 just to power my n-Cent? (Usually powered from a NAP V175 with a NAP 150 doing the fronts)

Thanks
Dan

direct and to the point, cheers Smile

I didn't think it would, a 200 maybe but not more of the same. Cool on with the pre-amp hunt...

re: 200. for best results you want identical amps across all channels. that's what you've got already Winker

a pre is where I would put my money but the av2 is no slouch. maybe wait till it comes back from a service before comitting to another pre?

If you want to improve the centre, the right thing to go for would be a NAPV145. This would release you for a 200 for the main fronts and switch your 150 to the rears allowing you to sell off the 175.

Spot-on advice Frank! I use a 145 to drive my Axess centre.

Don't underestimate how crucially important the centre channel is to good surround sound!
