I have my shiny new Iphone 4 just waiting for number port now. All synced and everything copied over seamlessly. What a joy.

Just walked past the apple store in regent st and there was a queue of about 800 people! Glad I got mine first thing this morning from my local o2.

Hope no one is using the TomTom Sat Nav program as currently it does not work with iOS4.
Strange, I put iOS4 on, and TomTom has been working OK.
John
worked fine for me on the old 3g as well.

Users report iPhone 4 issues. So it is a good idea to hold out until the dust settled (maybe I am speaking to myself
).

Queued up on the Strand, they only had 16Gb ones for poor soles like me too far back. Over 100 in queue when I joined at 7.15am. Gave up shortly before 9am as I needed to get to a meeting. Next day picked up a 32Gb one in Milton Keynes after a 15 min wait! No complaints, am using it to post this sitting on my villa patio in Centreparcs. The new higher screen res is fantastic. Makes looking at Naim forum a joy.

I am very impressed with the new iPhone. My only criticism is that they did not increase gig size as my 32 is now completely full.
The signal dropout issue which does not effect me is being addressed through a software update next week.
The big question mark is now network performance. I am on o2 and it is far from perfect. I would be interested to hear how people have found iPhone data performance on Vodafone. Are there the same issues? Maybe I should leave o2 and move to Vodafone before my 14 day cooling off period expires.

They gave me £232 for my year old 16Gb 3GS.
Who did? I've got 12 months left on a 3GS contract with O2 and was led to believe that you had to buy out the remainder of your contract at £20 a month?

Yep, I had to buy out the remainder of my contract too. I too had a 3GS, bought on launch day. It cost me £200 to buy out that and then came the good news that O2 would give me £232 there and then for the old girl, or a cheque (a what??) in a month's time for about £20 more. I was quite surprised at the amount being offered, and ripped the guy's arm off.

Blimey, that's interesting to know. I might well give that a try when I get back to blighty.

They are expecting more stock some time in July at O2 stores.
To summarise:
iPhone 4, 32Gb, on contract: £209
Early termination of contract: £200
3GS recycle payback: £232
So I paid £177. I kept my old number, it was transferred to the new micro-sim with no problems. All I need to do is cancel the insurance before the 14 day cooling off period ends.

Amazing stuff this science. All I need now are smaller fingers and stronger glasses. Apart from that and maybe a backspace arrow I admit to being rather impressed. It all seems to just work..

I've got OS 4 on my 3GS and I have a problem - it is continually trying to update an app (Google Earth) irrespective of whether I am signed into the app store or not. The icon just says 'waiting' the whole time and the app is undeletable in 'shakey' mode.
All completely liveable-with, except the battery is draining - I can practically see the bar moving dow - and I am a good 8 hours away from being able to connect it to my computer at home. Anyone encountered this, any ideas?
Thanks!
Rod

If an app is over a certain size it wont let you d/l over the mobile network but only on wifi or a PC sync. That might be why it is saying it is waiting all the time. I'm pretty sure that the google Earth app is rather big.

Here's a screenshot from an episode of Wonder of the Solar System. And remember, this is from a video with its lower than a still picture resolution.
Not bad, is it.
