Cosmetically the Naim 1 is the original silver
sided box whereas the Naim 2 is the green lighted style replaced last year.
Both are the half width box size and the Nait 3 was the full width replacement for the Nait 2

is big. In the ’80s we’ve used Nait 1 then the 2 as reference amp on the “séances” of our Hifi Magazin so I’m rather familiar with their sound. The One was technically far from perfect, especially in the phono circuit. The Two was better in any respect and had a more healthy sound. IMHO it’s up till now the best amp for the price. And its S/H price is rather low today.
