Cynics Clinic Innit !

Having just enjoyed my freshly ground daily milk coffee, or 'au'lait' as they say in Italy, these thoughts came to mind, of which I'll share with you all and can be either totally ignored, read or/and commented upon, as per usual, as easy as that as it always is, innit Adam me old cycle-Jister ?
Second paragraph already 'that's a first !". Well I've certainly learn't a lot about pre-amps this week, but I was considering more Britain's freshly pensioned off ex-senior copper, ie, Sir John Stevens who recently in a well sold rag (NOW) stated that in his opinion there are at least 100, and more likely 200 serious folk walking around in the UK that constitute a threat to national security. His equally worthy successor Sir Ian Blair strangely enough has chosen (wisely in my opinion) not to comment whatso'ever, neither affirming nor denying Sir John's claims, which to the average 'NOW' reader may well seem confusing³ ? One of Britain's best selling rags today in fact didn't have any mention of any news from whereever in the world today at all at all, barring a certain British idiotic dj who had apparently slept overnight with a woman after partying somewhere. I'm aware people only want to read and hear nice things that they approve of, that's why the Times, Guardian and Daily Mail have such support in UK, but it's a little worrying at such times as these me-thinks, or is it the 'head in sand' syndrome, that'll suit certain party's if not indeed certain individuals very nicely thank you !in fact in a little while it'll be quite normal for Politicians to lock people up (Charles Clark won't be around for ever, and the judges bit after 7 days is just not gonna happen, issit Our Mick ? Hats off to the House of Lords who in the last few days have faught nail & Claw against bombastic odds to protect 800 years of British Civil Rights (we almost invented the stuff ?) Not going into the old Lords argumenmt (I strongly dissaprove of Hereditory Peers) but I'm sure we will one day see Lord Blair of Poplar in it's ranks, following such great's as Callaghan etc, though naturally the only 'TRUE' Socialist in today's Parliament gave up his title years afore, namely Mr Wedgwood-Benn, the old China.
For those of you non UK folk who may not be aware of the fact that in the last few years or so the British Government has attemted to improve its lack of properly trained coppers across the board by filling the gap with seriously 'doubtful' folk in uniform called 'Community Support Officers' who in essence are all well and good, though in the guise of local community watch/come street workers, and not pretend 'unwarranted' policemen & women in uniform. This 'Percy Sugden' green light for many folk to wear a uniform and stick their noses into others business (neighbours etc) is a very dangerous game indeed, and will only put fuel to the fire (especially in low run down areas, that lack yoof clubs, and proper playing fields with changing rooms etc, etc), our recent banter on this forum about 'little hitler's' re: traffic Wardens etc, does have a certain ring to it, many of these folk would never be accepted by the Military or Police, not to mention other agencies, (barring Prisons naturally) where they really always shine.
Special Constables have existed for many years and I suspect they are far from happy at this latest attempt to lower their own failing moral. As with the States, many reservists (TA / N-Guard etc) have been mobilised for Iraq etc, and pushed numbers to the limit, quality is rapidly being diminished I feel, to cater for politcal smartie points at home. Well the good news is that's all for now folks, as today for the first time in many months it's actually a few degrees above 0°C for once here in sunny Berlin City, so I'll go out and enjoy the warmth, and save on my heating bills at last, innit.
Fritz Von I was wondering as in many countries (quite rightly so) it's very very difficult to adopt a child by childless couples, one wonders therefor when in our beloved (UK) Nanny State when something goes wrong bigstyle, the State is nowhere to be seen, and the parents only appear to be the guilty party getting dragged through the system without mercy, and subsequently pilloried by the afore.mentioned gutter press that the majority of the country reads and takes as God's own Gospel ?
N.B. My new digital camera is in the post if anybody was wondering (which I doubt) I'll tell you all about it when it arrives, I'm wery excited innit.
