R & B Recommendations ?

Posted by: ChrisM on 11 January 2004

Can anyone recommend well recored R & B CD's. Not the current chart type stuff but old / older great artists that sound great on a good spec Naim System.

I have bought a few CD's recently and have been very disappointed with the quality of the recording.

Any offering greatfully received.

Regards

Is this the sort or recommendation you were after, it's just I took your question to be after the 60's rock Rhythmn and Blues movement (Faces etc), which I can't really help with (as far as CD is concerned)

I just want to say that Ray Charles is the king. Recent box sets on Atlantic or Rhino are the business. Engineered by the wonderful Tom Dowd. Birth of Soul in particular is bounteous.
