Calm down scotty, you'll have a seizure. They might be embarrassed into performing a bit better in Perth.

Seems the resistance is a very thin veneer though.

Gee they're a mite upset aren't they Bazz?

Doh, of course!! Why didn't I see it before. The England team is the old North Sydney Bears in disguise.

Freddie is actually Gary Larson in whites!

Not quite 'bears' exactly, bazz.

'The Sun' probably said it best:-

Wombats 2
Wombles 0

Where's Monty?

Anyway, lets practice the song once more

3-2, we're gonna win 3-2, we're gonna win 3-2

Great loyalty being shown here to the English Cricketers from the Englishmen on the Forum.

I thought perhaps there would be some discussion of what they should be doing to improve their game, who they should replace - that sort of thing.

Instead, you're calling them Wombles.

English cricket is an attutude! Not so easily changed...

It's a term of affection.

I still think we'll fight back and win the series.

That's the spirit, ROTF!

Actually that sounds a bit like the sort of chant the QPR fans were singing a few weeks back. Not so much now, though.

Australia clearly feeling the pressure, Damien Martyn has retired with immediate effect! Does this mean they play with just 10 men next time?

Given the reaction on this Forum to a dominant driver in Formula 1 motor racing, I'm surprised that no Englishmen here are suggesting a change in the rules to make the game more "interesting"....

Deane

What a top idea! Perhaps Australia should only be allowed to field their under 15s when they play England in the Ashes.

Fair enough, after all, Australia fielding Dad's Army isn't working for you is it? Big Grin

Don't Panic!

They don't like it up 'em etc.

Won't be long till the 3rd Test . . .
Posted on: 11 December 2006 by Chillkram
Come on then Steve, let's 'ave it!

Monty's going to play in this one so a win is clearly on the cards for England, especially as the Aussies have decided to even things up a little by picking an english player.

We've given you a head start just to get your old boys going, but it's England all the way now with three wins in the next three coming up.

Good call, Deane, but for the fact that engineering the deliberate shunt is not so easy in cricket - and we're English - fair play, what ho, and playing the straight bat (oh no, that's the problem ... or at least one of them...)

But anyway, the chaps have acclimatised by now. Soon the Aussies will learn that the trouble with crowing too much is that all too soon you end up having to eat crow pie (though I know Australians are famous pie lovers).

Red Face Not for much longer Mark, the new generation is taking over! This is Damien Martyn's replacement Adam Voges, and he's hardly graduated out of short pants.

Ah! It looks like the Aussies have taken up my suggestion of fielding their under 15s. I've got underpants older than him.
