India Pale Ale

Currently enjoying a Phillips IPA from Esquimalt, Canada. Might be the best I've tried. Any other IPA suggestions?

Cheers

Alcohol no more causes the misery than high buildings and paracetamol cause suicide.

It's the abuse etc

Why, alcohol even makes listening to old Sky records amusing. Not half...

Back on the thread, Adnams Broadside is a very fine ale indeed.
Although I am currently enjoying a bone dry Riesling Spatlese Trocken Ungsteiner Herrenberg 2000 Pfeffingen Fuhrmann-Eymael, which is as much of a mouthful to taste as it is to say (and they wonder why it's difficult to sell..!)

Cheers!

Mordue IPA is just fantastic! 5.1 so not a session ale, it is full bodied and very moreish.
I live on Tyneside and used to work in the bar FREE TRADE INN in Byker. I still get in when I can and can tell you it is the best bar in the North East!
Richard the manager usualy has in 3.8's-5% beers as a selection and they can vary from Jarrow bewery (I simply cant extoil enough) through Houston, Archers, Kellam, Mordue, Hadrian and border, Boggart, Wylam and far to manny to mention.
No hot food but the beer is by far the best in terms of selection.
Keep in mind that it is a small bar and there is generaly 4-ish at any one time to try.
You have had the rest so dont settle for nowt but the best.
FTI!
......Dont work there no more so this isnt a plug.

Hi Steve2701

Sorry for the delay in replying. Been down Cornwall for a week.

A little sampling of course, St Austell IPA at 3.4% but no abuse KRO, well within my recommended guidelines. The misery is not caused by alcohol, only by people who mis-use it.

This is fully out-weighed by the millions of people who enjoy the taste of alcoholic beverages, the alcohol content is, in my case immaterial.

No-one here is condoning or even mentioned excessive consumption, quite the opposite.

Also managed 200 miles cycling, using St Austell (town not Brewery) as a base.

If anyone is up for a sampling tour, there is Bathams, Pardoes, Sarah Hughes, Holdens and Black Country, that I could get brewery tours round.

Steve (Toy), you know the area, fancy driving Eek

Post here if your interested, I'll see what I can do.

Regards

Guy

Guy,

I don't know the area that well, but if a beer excursion were planned for the daytime I'd be more than happy to drive as I don't do daytime drinking whatever the excuse.

Steve I was only joking about driving, Busmans' Hols!

Breweries are like a Busmans for me, plus I don't drink during day. It knocks me out, and I'm fit for nothing for the rest of the day.

I would gladly drive.

Regards
