I didnt think the 52 had unity gain, unless you have the new boards?

Hi Neil,
I had a buzz when I connected mine up. I cured it by disconnecting the aerial from the TV/DVD. I watch TV via the SKY box. But it was the terrestrial aerial (ntl: in my case). It must have been a earth loop. Hope this helps.

This does sound like an earth loop BUT help may be at hand. Contact Naim. They can advise about removal of a link on the AV2 circuit board which can solve this problem.
It may not be the solution but give it a try

Can you be more specific about the buzz:
Low/mid/hi freq?
signal dependant (distorsion)?
Do you have Cable/Sat TV?
Emmanuel
All opinions are my own, and reflect those of the organisation i work for, even if not stipulated.

Aaaaah - good old NTL and cable TV buzz...
I had this in my old flat with Audiolab 8000A/Yamaha DSP-E492 DPL processor, and the dreaded NTL cable feed. I never managed to cure it - it was definitely an earth loop. It only occured through the main amp's left and right front channels so it was obviously a loop on the mains caused by the cable box. Turning the telly off iradicated it, but then you had no picture so it defeated the object!
You can get earth loop eliminating plugs from somewhere for these aerial/cable problems, but I can't remember where from right now...
When the music's over turn out the lights

Hi Neil,
If you disconnect all sources from the AV2 but still have it connected up with the NAC 52 and amps, is the buzzing still there? If so, it's probably an earth loop caused by having two items connected with signal to earth connections. You can cure this by removing a link on the AV2 board which removes the signal to earth connection in the unit.
If the buzzing goes away when all sources are disconnected then I'd look at your cable TV connection and would try to find an isolator from an electronics supplier. The best way to proceed is by process of elimination. First connect primary sources such as DVD player, VCR etc.. and then see which item (or combination of items) causes the problem.
If you need any further assistance send us an e-mail or give us a call.
