Anyone purchased from CD WOW lately?

Because I have 3 items outstanding for well over a month:
Neil Young Massey Hall,Richard Thompson's latest and Icky Thump.
When I contacted them about these I got (for 2 out of 3) a generalised sorry for the delay email. Last Thursday I emailed cancelling the orders and requesting my money back. I've heard nothing yet.
This may all be just incompetence allied to shoddy customer care that we get a lot of these days.
Or it may be an indicator of something more serious.
Anyone else having trouble getting cd's in June?

John
They were in a legal bind recently (EU derived I think) for importing from outside the EU and not declaring tax or some such. They continue to send me marketing email so they aren't dead! have to say I have avoided them since reading about the case a few weeks back. Hope you get a satisfactory resolution.

"the British Phonographic Industry (BPI) took a case against CD WOW! alleging that the company was engaged in parallel importing. In March the company was found guilty of breaching previously given undertakings to the court over its sale of CDs, and the level of damages has just been set at £35m plus costs." See the story
here. Of course none of this suggests that they will not continue trading - more that they might have taken their eye off the ball a little recently.

and then the BPI complain about the sales of CD's against downloading.

I also placed an order for Icky Thump. I sent them an email a few days after it's release date and they replied saying that it wouldn't be in stock until the 29th. On 29th it got shipped. I also ordered two other CDs and they both shipped immediately. Sometimes they do not get stock for new releases as quickly as other suppliers but I suspect that is because the UK record industry hates them

Not used CD WOW for while, I usually get my CDs from
here Arctic Monkeys & Icky Thump £6.99 each arrived within days of release from Singapore. Never had any hassles, and they kept me informed when a CD was once out of stock.
The BPI are idiots, most people will pay £7-8, but not £10-11 (or the £16 HMV sometimes try) So they'll download it for free instead and everyone's a loser, including the hifi industry. No matter how good your hifi is, you can't polish a turd, and a MP3 file is just that. It will never sound good, so why waste money on decent hifi.
That's my rant for today!

Another vote of confidence for 4CheapCDs.
They are cheap, quick, well packaged and have never let me down.
Fairly limited range however.

Haven't used them for awhile now. Had probs with my last 2 orders so just stopped using them.
On one of the orders they sent me the goods after I cancelled them. So I was honest and posted them back to them. They then gave me 2 weeks to use up the credit they gave me for my postage. So it ended up costing me money to return the discs as they had nothing on the site I wanted. So I then vowed never again will I use them.

I faxed them yesterday and have had a promise to refund me the money, which judging from Munch's experience should be forthcoming.

Freak Emporium - you can phone them as well as use the Internet.
Also tend to use the artists site - especially if it says I can order by 'phone.
Amazon is fine - it is a very well built secure site.

Yesterday I received two mails from CD WOW. Zeitgeist will be sent on the 20th of July, the new Chemical Brothers on the 23th. So I guess they still are in the air (and I sure hope so!).
