Its that new TV program on ITV 9pm sunday night.
Its a big silver convertable and I have no clue what it is.
I am sure there are a few car buffs here...

I stand corrected. Well done that man.

Alvis TE21 (1965)?
Or the earlier TD21?
For those who have looked closer at 'Kingdom' than me, what do the headlights look like? That's one obvious difference between the TD21 and TE21.

Very classy car.
For driving when getting there quickly is not required.
Thanks for the ID, I knew there were car nuts here

These ones are highly modified Munch. (as featured on BBC's Top Gear.)

Eagles are barely E-types with all the mods that have been done. Handing and braking considerably improved, mind you that might not say much considering the starting point. An aquaintance had them "restore" his 3.8 MK 1 all that remained of the original was the main engine bulkhead (including makers plate),most of the bonnet, bootlid and several re-fettled parts trim bumpers etc. It certainly handled just as crap so perhaps he should have "Eagled" it. Mind you I seem to rember he got about £80k for it at the height of the boom.

How about a Beacham EType based on XKR running gear?
Posted on: 01 May 2007 by BigH47
Sorry I only like the Mk1 body style.

I see you are a purist Howard. I would love an e-type roasdster in good nick just for pottering around the country on a summers day - the handling (or lack of it) is not really a problem as I wouldn't want to thrash around in it.

I had a friend who owned/owns an E-Type. I think it's horrible with its body overhanging the wheels and its tiny cabin at the back of a torpedo. I have never understood the fascination. A hairdressers car if ever there was one.
AC Cobra for me please.

Now your talking. Have you have got a good dentist? I must admit I'd rather have V8 under the hood. Another friend had until recently an ex-works Le Man Cobra it had fibre glass sort of fast back top that could be fitted but looked better without, it sounded superb. It was this one:-

My friend was not John Minshaw. He sold the Cobra and bought a Bizzarini
One of these I think:-

One with the hardtop

I once saw Nicky Clarke getting into a Nissan Land Cruiser on Marlebone High Street - now there's a real Hairdresser's car, if ever there was one.

I wouldn't mind an AC Cobra or one of those old Porsche Roadster thingys - not sure what they are called but I saw a red one in town t'other day and it was utterly gorgeous.

You need serious money for a genuine AC Cobra. 39 PH's auction estimate was £700,000-800,000 that was for a special car though. Plenty of pretend ones around though. If you are tied between a Cobra and a Jag there's a Cobra kit based on Jag running gear even.
