I take it your TOG rating is zero.

Shame. I think he's great and used to keep me in stitches on my long commute every morning.
Some of the things he got away with...
A superb, professional radio presenter. Didn't come over well on the TV though.

I, for one, will miss him in the mornings.

I shall miss him in a strange sort of way, a lot of annoying drivel but in small doses was OK, in fact was quite entertaining with the right subject.
My fear is how will we face morning radio with the empty headed ginger banshee who is replacing him.
But it could be worse, Jonathan Ross

As a professional driver [class 1 HGV] Wogan kept me going in the morning [as well as most other truck drivers] because it was light humour although sometimes absolutely hilarious especially
when boggy marsh was on with the janet and john stories. And you could always tell who was listening to that just by looking into other cars as you passed by, he will be sorely missed by me and driving in the morning will never be the same again.
As for Moyles his show seems to me to be built around slagging people off and as for that i cannot listen to him and anyway the last thing you need early in the morning is shouty loud music.
As for the ginger one he was in the right slot i.e. the drive time show and i think he will struggle with us Togs, i also think that the natural choice is Johnny Walker to slot in to Wogans seat, he will be sitting in till Evans arrival for three weeks.
Eight million listeners a day cannot be wrong.

You're absolutely right ...Wogan was perfect for the spot he anchored .....and despite not being in Moyle's demograph (i.e. I'm over 10 years old) there is little doubt he is truly awful ..peurile and devoid of a sense of humour.
....I'm sure the bbc know this but as with the X Factor quality has nothing to do with the argument - it's ratings, ratings, and erm oh yes RATINGS.

I listened to Terry's show yesterday and thought it was very touching. I agree with you on Chris and he is good in the drivetime slot. I am sure he will do quite well in the morning slot but for me Johnny Walker is a broadcasting legend and really should be given a better and more regular slot than his Sunday afternoon 70's show
(which is very good to listen to whilst doing the Sunday roast)

Deadlifter is imho spot on. I suspect however, that JW drove his own semi retirement rather than the Beeb - don't think his mojo was up to a daily show. CE is an excellent dj who may find his new slot frustrating, but he may just pull it off.
One thing is for sure, the main point of keeping J Woss away from this slot has been successfully achieved!!

Yes, Johnny Walker did go into semi retirement which is a great shame as again he is hilarious but i think this was forced by his cancer scare and i hope he continues to sit in when evans is on his holidays as deadly aoke [ see karaoke also see Alan Dedicoat ] is so comical

Boo hoo. Or something...

No I'm no Moyles fan (appalling)...I just found Wogan's years of demeaning all civil servants, politicians and anything remotely 'green' had had it's day. When you look up smug in the dictionary...
His personal record of environmental vandalism of the uplands through his suspect business is another reason to see folk like him off the airwave.
Good riddance...the floral dance will forever be his intellectual apex.

I listen to Radio 4, radio 2 is bad and radio 1 is really bad.

Sorry I should have said. For years Wogan pumped his money into various business outlets...one of which was to buy up farms from struggling hill farmers and convert upland pastures to conifer plantations to exploit a loophole of sorts in EU funding. If you walk in the Lakes or Snowdonia, and see blocks of conifers that look 'out of place' - chances are Wogan owns them. Ok, some may not care about this...but it's the manner in which he used his platform to ridicule so many causes.
But since Pudsey Bear's his mate...it makes it all ok.

I don't mind TW but I loathe Chris Moyles.
