Suddenly not liking an artist: I bet this has never happened to you?!!

Hi all,
Here is something that has just happened to me and I'm slightly annoyed about it. When I was growing up in my mid to late teens, I really enjoyed Indie music such as The Stone Roses. Recently, I have been following Ian Brown's solo work and for sentimental reasons quite liked it.
Anyway, I've just watched the following video on YouTube and my attitude to him has gone completely downhill. He is immature and petulant and this has influenced my whole impression of his music!

Interesting point Jon.
Interesting clip too. I think, the interviewer is a complete idiot and he would wind anyone up. How on earth did he get a job?
That said, Brown has always been an obnoxious little gobshite. An acquaintance of mine had the misfortune to interview the Roses back in '89 and said they were the most foul-mannered bunch of wankers he'd ever come across.
Still, Picasso was a deeply unpleasant man (read John Richardson's magnificent biography for more), but that hasn't put me off his art. The same applies to Evelyn Waugh, Miles Davis, Lou Reed, Frank Sinatra and many others.
Just because an artist/singer/writer/actor is an arsehole doesn't/shouldn't necessarily diminish their work. Although it often does...

With all the pap that is about at the moment is Ian Brown really that bad? Attitude wise have you seen Liam or Noel, Kanyae (sp) or Girls Aloud!
Just play F.E.A.R. and forget the clip

Cheers

Uh oh I think I need a translator for that interview. But from what I understood I agree I think the interviewer was the real twat with his tight sweater thinking he was going to be cute and wind up Ian Brown. I thought Ian might jump over the table for a second.
Most of the artists I have fallen out of love with are the ones I probably shouldn't have done in the first place.
Then there is someone like Madonna, who's first two albums I used to really enjoy listened to them alot (I was young, girls would dance to it.) Now, with her fake english accent and attitude, I cant stand the sight of her and cant really listen to any of her albums. Also I heard a bootleg of one of her recent concerts and she sounds like she is talking her songs, barely a note on key, huffing and puffing like shes doing an excercise video. I listen to the stuff I used to love and I can hear her straining to find the right notes. I know she works hard as hell, but so would I if I were makking that kind of dough as a glorified aerobics instructor.

I don't think he is too bad. The interviewer asked questions but couldn't be bothered for the answers!
Ian Brown was just being Ian Brown - mouthy and with some attitude, but those character traits were always an important part of why the music sounds so good.
