Which input for a DAC

Posted by: gand on 25 April 2009

Hi
I think I have search this forum but couldn't find an answer.

I have bought the Lavry DA10 DAC, so the question is, which input on my 282 should I use for this purpose. I have a XLR to DIN cable, unbalanced.

Thanks

I presume CD as this tends to be the optimum input, unless you already have this in use...?

I use Aux1 with my Lavry and it sounds so good I have never feel the need to compare it with the rest of my 282 inputs. I also have a CDP, a tuner and the av input connected to a home cinema so in my case I have only Aux 1 and 2 available. Why should CD input be the optimum?

Surprises me too, but on a 252 at least apparently so ...

Too much is made of this.

On a high quality pre-amp the best thing to do is connect it up and simply listen to some music.

The whole input difference thing has gone so anal that I am sure the idea has not seen sunlight for months!
