Money can't buy me love
Posted by: Rasher on 18 May 2006
I feel very sorry for Paul McCartney. I'm not a big fan, but I do think he has been half of the most important music created in the 20th century. Why some bint who marries him for 4 years is worth 25% of his earnings for that is just plain disgusting. I wish I was the divorce judge - I'd let her have twenty quid and ask her why she thinks she's entitled to more. I'd allocate his wealth against each event/song/album etc and measure her achievements alongside to assess her settlement. It probably wouldn't get to the twenty quid to be honest - I might have been too generous.

Come on now Rasher, how much would you want for shagging Paul McCartney?

Miller vs Miller might offer an insight into the thinking that takes place during some of the big divorce cases or you could always wait for the Sunday red tops and be guided by their thoughts on the subject.

At times like this the old joke about finding someone you hate and buying them a house gets a whgole new meaning

The remarkable thing is he probably won't even notice the 25% being missing. He did have the choice to enter a "prenup" agreement of course. It's still a bit sad though.

What would've been the point. They have no validity in English law.

Paul:
"When I get older, losing my hair, (not) many years from now,
Will you still be sending me a Valentine, birthday greetings, bottle of wine?
If I'd been out 'till quarter to three, would you lock the door?
Will you still need me, will you still feed me,
When I'm sixty-four?"
Heather:
"No"

If she truly did not marry for money then she will walk away without a financial settlement won't she? She has already profited from the marriage and will contimue to do so (biographies etc)without a need for a cash settlement from McCartney. Despite yesterdays face saving attempts I expect her to walk (limp) away with a substantial pay off. There is no fool like an old fool. Maybe now he will stop using that hair dye? I would not wish divorce on anybody - it is painful so I do feel sorry for both.

Well I would do it for 25% of his worth as long as he wore a nice frock and called me darling. But no kissing. I would give the whole lot to charity and have no regrets in the morning.

He'll marry again.
I think a hippy-type woman would suit better, like that Linda. Heather wouldn't even let him have a toke ffs.

Paul must be wishing he'd had a pre-nuptual drawn up.
She wouldn't have a leg to stand on.
Come on you were all thinking it.

Really? Well Erik, he only lives a mile away from your place...but maybe it's not the right time just now.
Seriously, I do feel very sorry for them, especially him. He deserved better. But I guess the truth is that Linda was the love of his life and he'll never find anyone to compare to her (not even you Erik). It's all very sad.

Am I alone here in thinking Paul McCartney is a painful fucking prat? Even he can't possibly have thought a young attractive bird would want him for anything other than his vast reserves of cash - especially a young, attractive bird as famously "ambitious" (read "greedy") as Heather Mills. If he didn't see it coming because he thought she really loved for... er... whatever it was she loved him for then he's damn stupid and deserves to get stung; if he knew it was coming all along and just accepted it so he could give her a doinking then that's it: time to settle the bill, Sir Paul.
It's only £200,000,000 - nothing to a man of his means. He can afford to do it all again!

Tis sad indeed. We can't really know why they have really split up or what her motives really were. A man who has brought so much enjoyment and meaning to so many peoples lives deserves some genuine love and contentment in return(for what are millions without that?). I hope she has not married him for the dosh as one gets back what one gives out so I feel sorry for her too. The safest thing to do is to wish them both well as in the great scheme of things no one will really benefit from a divorce (except the lawyers)

I wonder what the population increase rate is, if any, in percentage terms, due to divorce?
As I reckon it probably goes up.

Dear All,
Another nail in the coffin of :
WOMEN AS INDEPENDENT PEOPLE WITH EQUALITY WITH MEN.
THe old adage of Marrying well and divorcing even better is still a great career move for womwen.
Mr McCartney should have listened to his kids.
They were apparently none to enamoured with the fair Heather. This led to open displays of conflict which made it to the press on more than one occasion.
If this woman has any self esteem and self respect she will leave the marriage without the Grand payoff.
I am absolutely positive that Paul will provide handsomely for the child. Oh yeah hang on he was very responsible with his other children all of whom have grown up to be independently successful.
Proof that being given large sums of money is not the way to best serve your children.
I feel that women still only see themselves as having one assett and that it has a monetary value and it is most definitely NOT between their ears.
I wish women would not go staright for the bank when a marriage ends.
It shows them as shallow selfish vindictive and dare i say it Whores.
Oh dear i really must calm down.
Hopefully this will create sufficient angst for Paul to write a new album. Also that Heathers predictable sordid WHO DONE WHAT book will be in a junk bookshop near you soon for £1.99 or 2 for £3.00.
regards David

In which case they were doomed from the start and we can all crawl back to our huts sniggering.
