The Red Shoes

I have had this album for... errr... quite a long time, and, perhaps it was my infatuation with "Hounds of Love" but this one never seemed to quite make it into my top 10 list. Well, I have listened to it a couple more times recently and really enjoyed it.

You know that when you're humming bits of it at work, it must be good. Especially when you work at PG&E.

Red Shoes left a lot of people pretty non plussed on release. Tough act following Hounds and Sensual World...

Real grower album tho'. Note the Goddess has a new one ready for release (almost).
Fancy that...a year with new Kate and a new Massive album. What more could you possibly ask for out of life?

2002 lookin' all good

Thanks for the tip.

Have a copy that has been collecting dust since I bought it when it was new. Gave it a couple of spins then but it didn´t really hit off. Never caught my ear that time.
But I "rediscorvered" sensual world a year after I bought that one. Was a period when I probably bought too many albums and didn´t in some cases let them grov on me. Think that sensual world is probably her best.

Somewhere around 1994, I recall seeing an hour-long movie, that, IIRC, was based on the Red Shoes album. It starred Kate and was essentially an hour-long vid of all the songs on the album, strung together to make a story.

Anyone else remember this?

For those of you that feel that you may have missed something in not seeing it - don't worry big grin

Cheers

Keith.

Excellent (Smithers).

Thanks for the feedback, I think I have to go and give Sensual World more of a chance, it just never got stuck under my skin at the time.

What do y'all think was her lamest album, Never Forever?

Keith,

Apparently it was called The Line the Cross & The Curve and also starred Miranda Richardson.

Alan - Actually I forgot about the good tracks, I was just thinking of Babooshka, All We Ever Look For, Egypt and Infant Kiss. Maybe I'll change my vote to Lionheart. wink
