Anyone had any ear problems out of the blue?

Late Sunday evening developed an earache in my right ear which turned into a considerable pain,could not get to sleep for it! By morning it was not only painful but bleeding as well as ozing a clear liquid ,It seems like someone has turned the volume down in my right ear ,went to A&E on Monday since then I have been on Antibiotics & Painkillers I have referral note for my doctor after I finish the course.I think my eardrum may be perforated. Anyone had the same symptoms?

Hello Blueknowz,

sounds like you have a middle or outer ear infection... going by my med-book, the causes, symptoms and outcome vary quite a lot.
I wouldn't give up hope just yet, even some of the minor ear problems can be painful and give reduced hearing for a while, hopefully you only have a boil in the ear canal and it will clear up very soon with the anti-biotoic.

But it's very important you follow up that referral!
