Cabling confusion

Posted by: Tim Williams on 03 April 2003

I want to use a non-Naim phono stage with my 102 instead of the in-built S boards.

Do I remove S boards, put back the 'through' boards and plug from phono stage into the BNC sockets (in which case, I will need some sort of RCA phono to BNC 'lead thingy'). Or, do I plug from phono stage into Din input 1A on the back of the 102 (in which case I will need an RCA phono to Din doobry).

Heyelp!!

I know this was probably a stupid, dull question (but I'm a stupid, dull person...) Does anyone else have any views on this?

If I plug into the first din socket as suggested, do I even have to take the S boards out at all? (I know it will sound better, but do I have to...)

Thanks all.

Ive removed the K boards from my 62 today so as to swap them for some MM boards, (im using an external phono stage at present) and am suprised at the difference it makes. No, you dont have to take them out, but if your not using them why keep them in?

If you are not using the phno baords, take them out.

Some say it improves things a bit.

If you need the inputs, replace them with striaght thru boards.

I did this for my tuner into the bnc sockets.
