Bat for Lashes CD is good - real talent there - almost possible to believe it could grow to Kate Bush proportions, as the hype would have us believe.
Soft spot for the Monkeys, as I live in Sheffield, and the singer has a decent way with words - woudn't buy the CD though.
Otherwise, the usual predictable drivel!

Amy Winehouse album is superb, The View album is ok but i've listened only once, thought they were good at Glasto. I will have a listen to Fionn Regan as he sounds miserable enough for me to enjoy. Haven't heard the Artics newie tho will get round to purchasing it one of these days. I have enjoyed ta couple of Klaxons tracks but they are a bit noisy for the likes of me. Don't know much of the rest.
Not sure if there is a stand out album..........my vote would be for Amy Winehouse.

What's Maps like?
Just seen a review titled 'Not bad for someone from Northampton(!)' on Amazon that says it's a cross between The Stone Roses and Spiritualized.
Further comparisons with The Flaming Lips, Slowdive, My Bloody Valentine, and Sigur Ros.
Mmmmm... I might have to try some of that myself.
