The tragic early death of this great talent a few days ago deserves mentioning I feel, even though he's seemingly of no importance to most folk in this drum as a musician and singer !

Play some of his songs, the geezer's good: So's Marmite and fried eggs on toast naturally if you're clean out of pork pies and English mustard, but the show still goes on, that's the point.

Been meaning to dig his 'best of love' album out but unfortunately its sitting in one of my 6 large boxes of CD's since my move back from Frankfurt
Theres some cracking tracks on that album, reminder to self to sort out some new wall racking
I saw him in concert in the early 90's at Wembley arena and he was excellent, a true singer, performer
R.I.P

I am most definitely a fan. The man managed to re-invent, tear-up and essentially make it his own of a previously recorded classic song on each of his albums. Luther Vandross was one of "the voices" that, like Barry White (also God bless you, R.I.P.), would turn any mood into a mood for dimmin' the lights and removin' some clothing. And, yes, he was truly the soul of Bowie's "Young Americans" album. Thanks for the sweet sweet music, Luther.

Luther Vandross' voice was riveting in it's soulfulness. "Dance With My Father" will always be among my favourite songs.
