Are there longer Linn tonearm cables for the Ekos I and Longer "umbilical Chord" that connects the Lingo?

This would enable me to re-position the Linto and Lingo to lower shelves in the racks. As things stand now, I have had to place my pre-amp and CDP lower than is really convenient, in order to accomodate the Lingo/Linto. This means I have to bend down more than I like. TIA

Jay:

Your Linn dealer should be able to make up a longer interconnect for you using the newish "Silver" cable (standard with the CD12). It is available "on the roll" to dealers I believe.

I currently use the Linn "Silver" between the Linto and preamp which my dealer made up for me with the required connectors. It is significantly better than the standard Linn interconnect provided with the Linto and the Chord cable which I have also used.

Don't change the arm cable.
I fitted a Kimber "upgrade" cable to gain a bit of extra length, and it sounded terrible. (I'm willing to sell really cheap if you want it).

The only sound solution is to put up with the short arm cable, or go for a separate phono stage with long interconnects.

For those who suggested LONG interconnecst, that is NOT the issue. Its the short length of the tonearm cable that forces the Linto be positioned on the top shelf of the rack. Please let me know if I am missing something, but I can't see how long Interconnects will help.

Be careful with long interconnects if your cartridge is a moving magnet transducer(moving coils don't seem to care). The extra capacitance in a longer length of arm cable will roll-off your top-end response.

For example, the optional 6(?) foot Linn arm cable of yesteryear partnered with a K9 would make the rig sound like a blanket had been thrown over the speaker. Consult with your linn dealer regarding the new silver interconnect (sorry I'm not familiar with the new silver jobs).

hope this helps ,
