CDX2 and cabling

Has anyone tried something other than Chord or Naim cables?

thanks Idoru.
A lack of reposnces suggest that everyone is probably using the Naim or Chord cables it seems.

If you have $500 burning a hole in your pocket you might want to check this out as an alternative to the Nordost.

Emil,
Thanks for the lead. I take it they are close to Nordost's voicing then?

I would strongly recommend you try the LAT for the 30-day trial period - you can always return it if it sucks in your setup.
so, LAT stuff does better in stage/imaging department than Naim/Chord?
To be honest, I don't need any more *refinment and staging' stuff.

If you're planning to add an XPS2 somewhere down the line, then this cable will become obselete as you'll be using a Burndy then.

Don't I still need a pair of IC from CDP to preamp?
Burndy is a connection between the power supply and CD unit, no?

I currently use Kimber KCAG...and I'm happy with it.
Won't look at cables again until harware updates which will be happening soon...
Also, why are you thinking of not using the Naim supplied lead?

Kuma
Sorry if I gave the impression that I was familiar with the cable. I only wanted you to become aware of an alternative.

Naim supplied lead? This unit did not come with one. Altho, it came with a power cord.
I haven't tried any Naim or Chord cabling yet.

kuma,
Give your dealer a buzz right away.
Cables that I have tried (terminated to DIN-DIN) are various Mogamis, Canare, Klotz and Cat5e. The Andrew Heliax was RCAs terminated and I use a Mayware adaptor for this purpose.
I'm currently using Naim's.

Cat5e with CDX2?
How did they do?

Not nice...
The Mogami 2534 mic cable is about £1/m. Mogami 2803 (not available outside Japan except Germany under another name) is about £14/m. The 2534 were the closest to Naim's IC without killing too much of the music. I wont attempt to lure you with hifi mumbo jumbos of the more expensive boutique cables out there.
A buddy is using the 2534 from a Meridian 506.24 to 82, which he prefers over Naim and Chord Cobra. The 2534 was terminated to a pair of Neutrik Profis and the 2803 to a pair of bullet plugs.
These cables are left-overs from my toob days. However, I'm relunctant to spend more time on DIY and tweaks now. Get 1 that work...and enjoy the music instead.

I see what you mean. Normaly, I just use the same one I've been using for last 5 years. but these cables are so stiff, they will not work with Naim and preamp on the same rack. Also, this producer does not offer DIN connection either. I am suing one of their entry level ICs for now and from what i hear, I think they are not a good match. ( altho, these are the only single-ended cable i have in the housel, atm )
So, I am forced to look for something that work physicaly and sonically. I know Naim and Chord are the de facto cabling.
And i have experienced a little bit of the good effect when I used an aftermarket main on Headline. I preferred the Naim supplied power cord. But, I have no way to evaluate how good Crysalis IC is since they are hardwired to the unit.
Thanks for your reply. I am sure this belongs in 'every Naim Newbie's book'.
Someone ought to write a book 'Naim for Dummies'.

Paging Stephen Toy.
Did you go ahead and purchase the I/C's that you raved about? Can you tell me more about the company and how much they are in American money?
