i have a old marantz cd player that distorts badly after a few minutes use it sounds like digital data coming in with the music it is a marantz cd 73 any help or advice please

Sounds like your CD player is suffering from old age!!
All CD lasers have a finite life and it sounds like yours is about to give up. Either have the laser replaced or it may be more ecconomical to replace the CD player all together.
Some of the discount hi fi stores sell Marantz CD players at very keen prices.

Whats it sound like? When my ARCAM's DAC went it sounded like fat hitting a hot pan and it only started when up to temperature. It only cost me £30 to fix. Can you get some one to look at it, as it may be just a simple problem.
