Calling Mr Nice Guy with a Sub in SE

I've been pratting about with a £150 Richer Sounds sub for a few months now and the results are surprisingly undetrimental.
I keep wondering what a decent Rel, M&K, Velodyne, whatever, would do. Thing is I'll buy it s/h and don't really want to piss off a dealer with a phoney home dem.
Is anyone willing to plug their's in to my system for a couple of hours? I'm in SE London.
