Saw Anthony last night at Bristol Colston Hall. Music evening all round. Do you know what...he sounds just as good as my Naim equipment!

I have 'discovered' Antony this year. Absolutely one of the best finds of my recent music buying, and the first one for a while that my wife has also been equally enthusiastic about.

My sister loves them. I just can not find a way to enjoy Antony's voice, and I have tried. Oh well.

I'd love to see a live performance. The records are excellent IMHO.

Dear Gordon,
I still have your disc of Anthony.
Email georgefredrik1961 at hotmail dot co dot uk and we should fix a get together again. Location is as indicated below this post.
System is not impressive, but we could share a good chin wag and possibly a beer if it would please you. It would please me.

The beauty of this artist is the lyrics, imho. Anthony can express tragically destructive self loathing at his form [for today I am a boy]& desires [cripple and the starfish] whilst simultaneously exhibiting astounding optimism [hope theres someone]. He is the preverbial pupae whose transformation into a butterfly through metamorphosis becomes his religion.
I think his voice and musical arrangments are first class but I suspect that it is this utter willingness to expose his unpleasent inner self that makes his music dear to our hearts.

I have not bought the first (eponymous) album yet. Does this bare comparison with The Crying Light and I Am A Bird?
