One for Hungry-Halibut

This should probably be in the Padded Cell but here goes anyway.

Someone is using the photo of your CDS3 on Ebay on another item. I have just reported them to the Ebay fraud people. Knowing the way they work, yours might get pulled as well, so be prepared to relist.

Scammer's: 150114229085

He has an interesting list of other items as well including a 555PS which also uses someone else's photo. Probably not a good idea to bid on them?

Thanks for your interest in this - I have had lots of mails about it via ebay and have reported it twice myself. It is very disappointing that ebay do not take swift action, and that the genuine auction is at risk too. I have actually placed one of my replies on the listing to try to reassure watchers. It will be a real shame if mine gets pulled (my other item is being scammed too) as there are some genuine buyers interested, and frankly, now I've got my new more modest stuff I want to get shot of the old and move on.

These things happen of course, but it's a real pain. This is mebeing restrained of course - my true feelings are much stronger!!

If Adam is watching, please be reassured that I am scrupulously trying to avoid any infringement of the no selling rule, and it may be helpful to keep this here for the time being to try to avoid anyone being conned by the fake listings.

It also amazes me that Ebay haven't yet pulled these items. He's selling six items, including 2 CDS3's!, all shown on various different racks and he's going to post them for £2. Yet people are apparently bidding on these!!

I doubt it, they usually get them bid up.

Not too many scams are placed without people realising, but it is all such a waste of genuine people's time.

Nigel

I do wonder if the damage being done isn't going to directly affect the interest in yours and ultimately the price achieved.

May be you would be better served pulling the auction (if it hasn't already finished) and re-list on a 3 day period (if that is possible) with a note of explanation in the description?

Good luck with it.

Here in the USA, there have been so many scammers that there is very little Naim kit listed on eBay. I placed my CDS3 up for sale twice this year and was inundated with false bids and phishing attempts. There were emails that claimed the pictures of my unit were being used in another listing and a link was provided to a webpage that looked like eBay's that required me to sign-in with my ID and password. I had to pull my listing both times, after reporting this to eBay. However, they still charged me for the listings! There seems to be too much risk in using eBay here in the USA.

Hi

I cheekily used someone else's photo to sell some speaker stands (genuine sale of course). I received an e-mail from the other seller saying it was breach of copyright and within an hour e-bay had deleted my auction (quite rightly, though I was in the process of replacing it with my own picture!), so I am suprised they are not taking more action in these cases as it is ulitmately their profits that will be hit when we all get fed up and use other means to sell our items.

Ebay have now acted; the CD555 and PS have gone.

I reported this the other day as well. I would be happy with one CDS3, but claiming you have two to sell is simply being silly. Just as well everyone is keeping an eye out for these toe rags. Hope it does not mess up your sale Nigel, new set up looks very neat BTW.

Thanks to everyone who has contacted me, and who have reported this to ebay. It is really good to see such support.

Best regards
