The poor girl had a crap childhood with goodness knows how many step-fathers, and basically did whatever she needed to do to survive. That's all she was; a survivor. She was dealt a cruel life and who are we to judge her sitting in our security? I doubt that anyone ever really loved her, but I'm sure she'll find love in the next life.
