Speaker shortlist
Posted by: Ceri on 21 April 2001
I'm looking to upgrade my ageing TDL RTL 3's and am drawing up a shortlist. My room size is approx.3m x4m and thye speakers will have to go pretty close to the wall.Current set up is CD5,Audiolab 8000a and RTL3's.Funds permitting, purchase of 112,150 and HiCap will also take place!I'd prefer floorstanders and have a budget of around £1500.Naim,Royd,Pro-ac and Spendor are all in the frame but i need some recommendations/advice.Thanks in advance for any replies

I used Ruark Talisman II's in a system with Audiolab 8000A for a while and enjoyed them. Stood against wall fine and they also look nice! Bi-wire was an advantage.

Thanks for your input fellas.I may go the s/h route for the Hi-Cap and amplification and thanks for suggesting Ruark and Neat.
Has anyone tried Neat Elites with their Naim gear-what are the good/bad points. Can Elites be used near to the wall? etc.
Cheers Ceri.

The notoriously hard-to-please Vuk Vuksanovic settled on a pair of Neat Elites and posted extensively on them. Try a search on "Neat Elite" from November 2000 onward.
